"It's more than just a job – we are making a difference!"

Michelle Czerwony began her journey with Homes for Independent Living (HIL), a MyPath Company, in 2018, when the company launched one of its first programs in the Wausau area. Starting as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in a long-term behavioral home, Michelle quickly demonstrated her skills. She built strong relationships with her clients and became a key member of the team. Her success led her to train with other clients and programs, and it became clear that she was a valuable resource, filling in across different locations. Enjoying the variety, Michelle was soon promoted to a DSP-Float, where she was cross-trained in all programs within the North Central Wisconsin (NCW) region and now regularly rotates between homes.

When asked about her job, Michelle shares, "It's so much fun learning and working with all different clients." She particularly enjoys spending time with the clients she supports, taking them on community outings, and witnessing their personal growth during her time at HIL. Michelle has had the opportunity to work with clients who have stabilized in their homes, contributing to their success and well-being.

They know people are here to help them," Michelle stated when discussing her role and its impact on the clients she serves. Beyond helping her clients, her experience at HIL has opened her eyes to the world of individuals with disabilities, further fueling her passion for transforming lives. "It's more than just a job – we are making a difference!" she said.

As a key team member in the NCW region, Michelle’s dedication and passion are clear, and we look forward to seeing her continued growth in the future.
